Adults with Autism Annual Spring Fundraiser – Tuesday, April 26

Dear Families and Friends of Friendship House:

Friendship House’s Day Program invites you to support services for our adults with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities by attending our Annual Spring Fundraiser on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Venetian in Garfield, NJ.

Each year new participants join our programs, who are highly motivated to learn new skills that will enable them to live more independent, productive, and fulfilling lives. Young adults on the autism spectrum and those with other developmental disabilities require an individualized continuum of care that is specialized to their unique way of learning and makes their own personal needs and goals a priority.

We are currently providing these high quality supports to 175 individuals across our 4 locations. Our services include Day Habilitation and community based, Supported Employment services for members in our day program as well as direct referrals for those individuals who are not in need of Day Habilitation services. Despite all the challenges of these last two years, we are proud to report that we continue to grow our programs. We are moving forward with the installation of our therapeutic horticultural garden in the spring and are planning the addition of other curriculum and therapeutic enhancements. As you may know we plan to expand our locations further across Bergen County including Teaneck, which will function as our 5th location and will be a state-of-the-art facility with the ability to serve 100 more individuals with varying abilities and interests.

We need your help! We rely on contributions from local businesses and individuals to support our mission and our continued growth. Please consider sponsoring this event, advertising in our journal and/or donating items or gift certificates to be raffled at the event. Please know that your donation will assist us in making a significant difference and enriching the lives of the wonderful individuals we serve.

For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Mala Spivack, Executive Director of Autism Services at mspivack@njfriendshiphouse.org. I am looking forward to meeting our families and community partners.

Warm regards,

Dinorah D’Auria, Psy.D.
