Dear Friends of North Jersey Friendship House,

As we look back on a year of profound growth and renewed momentum, we are reminded every day why the mission of North Jersey Friendship House has remained vital for more than six decades: to build skills for productive lives. Whether through clinical treatment, vocational training, community inclusion, or wellness programs, we exist to open doors, create opportunities, and ensure that every individual we serve has the tools, support, and dignity they deserve.

This year, we invite you to join us in taking an important next step.

Strengthening Our Spaces. Expanding Our Impact.

Across our programs in the community and our campuses in Oradell, Hackensack, Paramus and Wayne, our services continue to grow. To keep pace with this growth, and to build upon the quality of our services, we are launching a multi-year initiative focused on:

  • Refurbishing and expanding group rooms, pre-vocational sampling areas, and therapeutic spaces
(modern, therapeutic environments for learning, regulation, and skill-building)
  • Expanding our wellness services, including access to
Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and wellness initiatives
  • Giving back to our members and prioritizing their basic needs, by providing funding to eliminate their costs for food while participating in day services in our Hackensack location
  • Investing in workforce development for both staff and members
(training, certifications, leadership development, and employment pathways)

These priorities will allow us to maintain the excellence our members deserve while ensuring we are prepared for the future of human services, one that emphasizes outcomes, well-being, and community inclusion.

Your Support Makes This Possible

This year, our goal is to raise $50,000 to support the first phase of our facility improvements, wellness expansion, and workforce development initiatives.

Your gift, whether $25, $100, $250, $1,000, or any amount that is meaningful to you, will directly strengthen our programs and improve the lives of the more than 400 individuals who walk through our doors each year.

Together, We Build Skills for Productive Lives

The challenges facing individuals with varying abilities continue to evolve. But so do the possibilities, and with your partnership, we will continue to create spaces and programs that foster hope, healing, and growth.

Thank you for believing in our mission and in the potential of every person we serve.

With gratitude,

Dinorah D’Auria, Psy.D.                          Carla Noriega, MBA
Chief Executive Officer                           Chair, Board of  Trustees

WAYS TO GIVE

There are so many ways that individuals and businesses can show their support of North Jersey Friendship House. We accept donations online, by mail, in-kind donations, and are listed on GoodSearch.com (each time you search or shop, we receive a donation or percentage of a purchase). Lastly, by consulting your accountant or financial advisor, you will find there are even more ways to help with bequests, charitable gifts,  and other types of planned giving.

In addition to financial contributions, people can volunteer their time at one of our special events or in one of our prevocational work program area. Each year interns further their hands-on knowledge and complete college and advance degrees being overseen by our Senior Counselor in our intern program.
