GBR REALTORS’ Care Foundation Awards Grant for Therapeutic Theatre Program
Thank you, Greater Bergen REALTORS®, REALTORS’ Care Foundation, for selecting us (for the second year) as one of the 41 organizations receiving a 2023 Grant Award at yesterday’s grant ceremony.
Mala Spivack, Executive Director of Day and Community Services, accepted this award for North Jersey Friendship House. This grant will help fund our new Therapeutic Theater Program, which we plan to start this summer with our first production in the fall.
Mala shared that we are always seeking creative ways to help our members (program participants) reach their potential. This program will help them feel integrated, as part of the community, and communicate in ways they may not have opportunities otherwise.
Mala thanked the Care Foundation on behalf of “our future actors and actresses for our show. We hope to perform Mary Poppins, and we will invite everyone!”
During the ceremony, the Trustees of the foundation presented the awards to each organization, and each recipient was able to tell a bit about their good works and the plan for these funds. Wow, what amazing work all recipients do for our community, especially the most vulnerable populations!
There were common threads in the speeches like “it takes a village” and the significance of this funding to help with projects that might not be done without the generosity of GBR REALTORS’ Care Foundation. What a “feel good” event! Everyone was happy for each other, which made it great!
Kudos to all, and thank you again, REALTORS’ Care Foundation! Keep an eye out in Fall 2024 for our show!
